Surprise Phone Call

Friday

I received a surprise phone call from Tammy Duhr while at work today.
“I just learned from my mother that you had called,” Tammy said in her alluring tone.
We made a date for Saturday (tomorrow night).
“Who was that adorable gent?” Tammy asked.
“Oh…uh, you mean Chris. He’s just a friend,” I replied nervously but knowing that she knew. Tammy is only attracted to gay men for some reason. I remembered Frank telling me so.
“Well, I thought he was very polite and adorable,” Tammy said with some peppered sexy laughter.
Little does she know?

Tammy’s new telephone number is 537-9980. I guess she is rooming with the ‘geek’ (also named Chris) that I saw her with the other day.

I went for an hour bicycle ride after work and came home to watch more of the KQED Auction. I decided to turn in to bed early. There is no need to spend any more money (even if it was Payday today). I stayed home on this Friday night.

Bodywork

Posted on 06:31 by Unknown
"You take good care of yourself,
and I take good care of myself."

-Thich Nhat Hanh
"Being Peace"

The legendary Bob Hope attributed his longevity (he lived to be over 100) to his daily massage. If it was good enough for Bob Hope, it's good enough for you.

If you're like most folks who work in an office, you probably don't make the time or groom your budget to get a professional massage every day.

I certainly do not get a massage daily but I try to fit in one or two a month. One day I shall graduate to one-a-day. It reawakens my full body circulation and improves my posture.

Find a place near you that is reasonable. Massage therapists will make deals during these trying times. If you're in New York City I strongly recommend the Asia TuiNa Wholeness Center for a standard Tui-Na Bodywork massage:
37 East 28th Street, 8th Floor
(between Park Avenue & Madison Avenue)
New York, NY 10016

Tui-Na is a hands-on-body treatment using acupressure that is a modality of Chinese medicine whose purpose is to bring the body into balance. The principles being balanced are the eight principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The practitioner may brush, knead, roll/press and rub the areas between each of the joints (known as the eight gates) to open the body's defensive (wei) chi and get the energy moving in both the meridians and the muscles.

The practitioner can then use range of motion, traction, massage, with the stimulation of acupressure points and to treat both acute and chronic conditions.
Pretend Bob Hope just asked you, "Did you get your massage today?"

Saturday

I thought about calling my Aunt Lillian and taking my cousins Shawn and Shonette to the zoo but I didn't. Instead I called Gray Wallace about that bike ride in the hills he had recommended. His roommate said he had gone to Los Angeles for the weekend; whereby, I went on my own independent ride to Lake Chabot in Castro Valley. It was one great therapeutic, relaxing ride.

PHOTO: Lake Chabot, Castro Valley

When I saw the pedal boats at Lake Chabot I imagined riding them with Chris. I thought it would be so "cool" to cruise around in them. I stopped for an "orange whip" refreshment at some Castro Valley park where a baseball game was in process. As I started to leave I saw Jill (a co-worker from the Residence Telephone Order Center). She was walking her dog. We talked for a while.

"Yeah, when I saw you from a distance I thought 'Mmmmm' who is that?" She continued. "And then when you said 'Hey Jill' I thought 'He knows me!"
I simply laughed off the complimentary remark.

It continued to be a great day and a wonderful bike ride except when my bike chain slipped as I shifted gears. I started the day early and arrived home by 12:30PM.

I accompanied mom to order a cake at the Boniere Bakery for Sherri's Baby Shower next Saturday. Then we went to the South Shore Shopping Center. Considering the 'admiring looks' I got I really don't think I should wear my red tank top and black shorts too often.

Before long I found myself doing another quick bike ride. I deposited my $784 Internal Revenue Service tax refund check. I signed checks to pay off some bills for my dentist, Dad and my American Express card.

Helen and Tony stopped by to wrap a wedding gift for Helen's sister, Geneva. It was good timing as mom, dad and I were leaving for dinner at the Mexicali Rose on Webster Street. We drank one big pitcher of margaritas between the three of us. We laughed and talked about the excitement of 'mom and dad' becoming grandparents.
I love when my mom drank two sips of margarita and said, "I'm feeling tipsy."
The combination dinner plates filled us up sufficiently.

PHOTO: John Edward Armijo, Kindergarten

I went to the Soloman Lane townhouse to visit Sherri later as she had more mail for me. I spoke with Sherri for a while. She enjoyed seeing the 'John E Armijo' baby photo I brought her.

When I returned home I ended up watching PAPILLON once again. This time I watched it with mom and dad, of course.

By 11:20PM I was in bed, dozing off. I was wondering about life in Arcata and Eureka.

Improve Your Posture

Posted on 11:26 by Unknown

Before even trying to find out why I'm feeling uncomfortable, I try to change my posture, to make it more elegant.

When I draw myself up again, I realize that this simple movement has helped me to feel more confident about what I'm doing.

Human beings should be elegant in their actions and their posture, because the word is synonymous with good taste, graciousness, balance and harmony.

Saturday

I awoke on this Saturday morning at 10AM when I heard my brothers, Tony and John, enter the house. I chatted with them for a while and then went for a refreshing bicycle ride from 11:30AM until 2:30PM. I was wearing one of my new International Male tank tops and ended up with a 'tank top' sunburn. I hate that! I tried to even it out by lying on the beach shirtless. It did not help much.

Chris Cordellos telephoned me at around 2PM while I was still on my Saturday bicycling adventure. I called back at his mothers' house in Concord, assuming he had arrived in the Bay Area.
His mother responded surprisingly. "As far as I know he is still in Eureka."

Time passed slowly. Chris finally called again at 6:30PM. He suggested we 'go out' tonight. Chris explained that he was not going to dinner with Barb or his folks.

And so, I eventually found myself at The Kabuki Night Club in San Francisco where I met Barb and Chris. It was crowded there and we ended up at the I-BEAM. We had a pretty good time. The night flew by.

I remember a 'French dude' got busted outside of the club, adding to the excitement.
I remember a 'Black dude' who started rapping with us during the bust.
The guy was saying, "Yeah, I just got outta jail and the cops gave me a joint."
We laughed silently.
We fed our food cravings at a local Sub-sandwich shop. I soon departed for Alameda. Chris and Barbara departed for Concord.

If You Keep Wandering They'll Never Find You

Posted on 13:00 by Unknown

"You know what they say if you get lost in the woods. Stay put!
They'll find you.

If you keep wandering...they'll never find you."
-a line heard
in the film 'Big Eden'

Alan and I watched 'Big Eden', a film last night (another NetFlix mailbox surprise). It was a so-so movie but I loved the ending credits song. I am not very much into country music but I really liked the lyrics sung by Lari White.

If wishes were horses
I'd ride a fast one
If wishes were wings
I'd fly wild and free
If wishes were trains
I'd be on the last one
If wishes came true
You'd be loving me

If wishes were blue skies
I'd never get rained on
I'd walk in the sun
Whenever I please
If wishes were dreams
I'd dream the same one
Over and over
Of you loving me

I whisper your name
On each star I see falling
That old wishing well
Gets each penny I find
And every year I blow out every candle
And close my eyes
And wish you were mine
Oh if wishes came true
Then you would be mine

Twenty-five years ago today:

February 4, 1984, Saturday

Despite my independent outing last night I managed to make it to work by 7am. I worked up until 3:40pm. Eight full hours of placing customers on the SNP list. It was rather lax for a Saturday work day.

I called Nancy DeSilva to confirm our tentative date for tonight.
"Oh, I have to work...maybe next weekend," Nancy said.
I reacted smoothly with a mild "okay". Who knows? She has my telephone number now. She had said she'd lost my telephone number. I think that's "bull".

I called Paloma and she couldn't make it for tonight.
"Later for those wenches," I thought to myself. Shit!

After work I went out with my bicycle. My bike never says "no".

While I was riding I met Suzy Miller who in turn biked along with me. We toured the newly developed bike path on Shoreline Drive that extended on to the Crown Harbor area. It was an exhilarating ride.

Suzy and I decided to see a movie on this night. Her brother, Michael, came along and we all went to the Richmond Hilltop Mall to see 'Terms of Endearment'.
www.youtube.com/watch?v=FygdJGLlzNM&feature=related
It was a sad, humorous and entertaining film. We ended up munching at Nations Burgers after the show. I shared bits of the 'gory details' of last nights' movie (Make Them Die Slowly) with Sue & Mike. They thought it was pretty gross. It was funny to see their expressions. We had a fun outing. They're special people.

When I returned home I watched bits of the candid camera "Friday Night Videos" that I had taped from last night until I fell asleep.

Maybe You'll Remember...

Posted on 14:42 by Unknown

Alan and I drove down to Palm Desert on Friday to visit with dear friends. Alan kindly did all of the driving as I read a few articles aloud and my book (Spring Moon by Bette Bao Lord). While we were in the car we heard some music on CDs that we had made a while ago. I heard a song that got me going. I just loved hearing the tune called 'Remember' by The Underdog Project. It's a Spanglish song (with lyrics in English and Spanish). I just love it and we kept playing it over and over.
http://search.live.com/video/results.aspx?q=remember%2C+the+underdog+project&docid=547778002958&FORM=VIVP

When we had phone reception and I had a voice mail message from Chris Cordellos. Yes, I located him via a google search. It seems he's a hair colorist & stylist 'extraodinaire' in Lafayette, CA. We still have to talk and catch up on lost time. I saw him in the mid-1990s when he was working at a hair salon called POSH STUDIO in Walnut Creek but we haven't spoken since. It will be interesting to catch up on lost time.

Twenty-five years ago:

January 17, 1984

I had to stay at work only until 2pm today because of my dentist appointment.

It feels good to listen to my car stereo once again. It brings about such emotion and inner feelings of excitement when the "right" song is playing.

The dentist took good care of everything. I don't have to return for another check-up until June 27, 1984. I was out of his office by 3:20pm. I missed mom by only minutes as she usually leaves the house by 3:15pm for her work at the Oakland Main post-office.

I decided to go to my place and get on my bicycle again. I just love that machine. I bet my bike can't wait until it has another bicycle companion. It probably wishes it could rest. I do want to buy another foreign bicycle.

Today I met Sheila and Liz on the beach as I rode by. Sheila's a cute blond. They were both freshman in high school though. How embarassing. What a drag. Though I sometimes wonder... Who knows? I told them I'd see them on Saturday as we exchanged a few words with one another.
"Maybe I'll see you on Saturday as I usually ride along here," I told them.

I just remembered that the El Taco gal, Nancy, has never called me. Oh well.

I haven't called Leslie Fonseca either. Perhaps that is no great loss. It's just an added attraction (her child). There were some familiar favorites seen as I continued to ride my bike along the shoreline in Alameda. There were some new prospects of both gender. It was quite interesting.

My brother, John, took Sherri out to dinner to "H's Lordships" in Berkeley, for her birthday. I chose to eat alone at the 'Sizzler'. The waitress, Katie, flirted--or so it seemed. I believe we both shared in the flirting. She was very nice but seemed to be that way with all of the guests.
"You look a lot like that actress, Jessica Lange, who was in that movie 'Frances'," I said as I realized the girl had no idea who I was speaking about.

Shit! Why do I have 'call waiting' when my phone doesn't even ring. I decided to break down and call Paloma myself. I was so glad that I called her. We had such a good talk about the subject of depression and 'why' and 'how' people should not be burdened and find a balance in life. Paloma and I may go dancing together tomorrow night at I-Beam in San Francisco. She even said she might come to visit on Sunday to watch the Mel Gibson movie "The Road Warrior" after we watch the SUPER BOWL.
"I promise I will give you a tour of Stinson Beach one day," she added.

I am getting to a high point of really liking Paloma once again. Where? And how far it will lead is undetermined.
"Well, Thank you for calling me and making me feel better over my depressed mood," Paloma said.
"Oh...you just need something that will brighten up your spirits," I assured her, "it could be as simple as buying a new scarf, a new friend, a new place, an old memory, an old story, a poem or a good old-fashioned movie."
I was so happy to know that I lifted her spirits. She did the same with mine.

January 18, 1984

I dressed a bit more exceptional for work today, wearing my brown tweed sport jacket. I received more than one or two 'double-takes', too.

I called Paloma more than a couple of times on this day. It was settled that I would come by to pick her up at 6:30pm. She wore a gray dress with black stripes. Coincidentally, I wore black with my gray "Bebe" brand jacket. We seemed to 'match' as the ideal couple.

We just did a random outing to Round Table Pizza (nothing fancy). It was funny when we were both 'carded'. We both proved our respective 'twenty-four' year old ages. After the pizza we went to the UC THEATER on University Avenue to see "Spetters", a film from Holland, directed by Paul Verhoeven
www.youtube.com/watch?v=3nyTX_BguFg
and a 1974 French comedy drama film called "Going Places" (Les Valseuses).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Going_Places_(1974_film)
They were entertaining films. I was a little surprised to learn of the explicit sex scenes. I was a little embarassed to look over at Paloma during those parts. I will never forget those movies as being entertaining and shocking. Both films proved 'There Is No Such Thing As Simple Love'.

I enjoyed our date. I kissed and hugged Paloma at her doorstep. She confirmed the date for SUPER BOWL Sunday (along with 'The Road Warrior' movie).
"I'm thinking of going back to France for good," she confessed.
I think she wanted to see or hear my reaction.
"Oh...ahh, no!" I exclaimed. I am wondering if she may be looking for a commitment with or from me? Am I reading too much into it?
I was impressed when she said she used to work for Paco Rabonne, the fashion designer.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paco_Rabanne

Once I returned home I found John and Sherri on the couch, watching 'Joan Rivers' guest hosting on 'The Tonight Show'.
"Oh, Gilbert called...as did Alexis Budabin," John said.

This Guy Is No "Flake"

Posted on 10:10 by Unknown

There is a great magazine that my Creative Director friend, Arlene Zapata, recommended called 'Fast Company'. She lives in the Chicago vicinity. The magazine is printed on 100% recycled paper. It keeps me abreast of new, up and coming companies that are breaking ground in innovative ways. It has a slant towards Internet-based technology companies. I just love it.
www.fastcompany.com/

In the November 2008 issue there was an article about "Young Flakenstein". He considers himself the 'Darth Vader' of the Internets. I was quite interested in the technological prowess of this fellow. Gary Flake is his actual name. This web geek is hopeful in making MICROSOFT come alive again.

The CEO, Steve Ballmer, of MICROSOFT, has said that MICROSOFT's future lies in ad sales. Gary Flake, 41, is known to experiment with risk. (That reminds me of that classic Cole Porter song I love called "EXPERIMENT").
www.coleporter.org/cd.html

Gary Flake calls himself "Dr. Flakenstein" on his own blog.
www.flakenstein.net/blog

With MICROSOFT's unparalleled reach (more than a billion computer users worldwide) Flake has foreseen collective power. The more people contribute data to a site, he says, the richer it becomes for each user. MICROSOFT has an advantage.

I feel the same way about Flake's belief after reading the 'FAST COMPANY' magazine article. He believes the Internet is becoming a mirror of the physical world.

Flake is a bit of a mad scientist. He spent three years writing a computer science textbook (The Computational Beauty of Nature). I just might pick up a copy of that one! The book supposedly explores the work of thinkers like Sir Isaac Newton and the 5th Century Greek philosopher, Zeno. The text touches on how neurons process information in the brain and the behavior of ants.

Personally, I bought a giant hardcover book on the behavior of ants about ten years ago. I have thumbed through it but have never read it. I felt a sort of connection with Flake after I learned of his research on ants. Too funny.

I am curious to see if this "Flake" will create the new ideal 'Bride of Flakenstein' after his recent Microsoft Live Labs innovation of PHOTOSYNTH.

We seem to have more and more web wizards lurking in the mist.
Stay tuned...

December 31, 1983

It was an early start morning. I was immediately cruising in my car with my bicycle to Suzy Miller's apartment on Shoreline Drive. She was still in her bathrobe and ready to take a shower. So I didn't stay long and we didn't talk very much. I took the bike to JOE's BIKE SHOP for the flat tire repair. Gray wasn't working (the fellow I spoke to over the telephone). There was another guy there who was pretty friendly. I instructed him to fix both flat tires.

I drove to my Mom's house and had a quick breakfast. I was hanging out until my folks dropped me off at South Shore Shopping Center. My folks had accepted a New Years Eve party invitation at my moms' sisters' house (Aunt Lillian) in Castro Valley. I walked to JOE's BIKE SHOP and was riding my bicycle by one o'clock. I rode non-stop until four o'clock that afternoon. I stopped for a quick lunch with Sherri (my future sister-in-law) at Orange Julius. We had a nice chat.

I won twenty-dollars on the 49er-Detroit Lion football game. That was a pleasant surprise. The bike ride for the day was A-1, too.

Helen called and told me that her sister, Geneva, and her boyfriend, Derek, would not be joining us tonight. Geneva was sick. Such is life. Helen and I went on our own. We ate forty-five dollars worth at Horatio's. It was a great dinner. We remained at the Hilton until 12:45-1am or so. It wasn't QUAKE-FM 99 radio night but we had a good time dancing anyway. It was fun talking about whatever and whoever.

My resolutions for the 1984 year are:
1. No more credit card usage
2. See fifty-two flicks/movies
3. Exercise regularly
4. Look into the modeling scene and get a portfolio worked out
5. Take an Art class and expand on my interest in the Art world
6. Keep a careful watch on permiscuous gentleman (and "NOT" deal with them).

What Matters In Life

Posted on 12:01 by Unknown

Yesterday, I received a phone call after lunch at the Auberge du Soleil resort in Napa Valley from my cousin, Lawrence Vigil. He was sharing the sad news about his mother passing away. His mother was Julia Vigil-Casillas, my Aunt (sister to my father). Julia was a vivacious and talkative soul. In her heyday she was said to be quite the beauty. She was a widow since 1995 when her last husband, Armando Casillas passed away. She always had a chihuahua in the house. She'd fatten it up...and when one chihuahua would die she'd replace it with another. As a young boy I would love visiting her home because she would always have a large glass jar filled with colorful Chiclets gum. She always knew how to make a child smile with candy, cookies or some such goodies. I had not stopped by to see her for several years but always sent her my annual Christmas Card. This morning I was thinking of my dear Aunt Julia (born June 19, 1920 in Ledoux, Mora County, New Mexico) and remembered this poem I wrote a month or so after my mother had passed away. I figured it was a good time to read it again.

What Matters In Life

Feeling the fresh wind swoosh across my face
Walking in a brisk, non-swift pace
Hearing birds chirp and wildly flutter
Touching textures smooth, soft as butter
Reading a story of hope, laughter or joy
Watching a child riding a scooter--his toy
Sensing the smell of baked goods with coffee
Listening to leaves rustle atop the oak tree
Seeing a foreign tourist in couture style
Speaking a new accent for a short while
Waking up each morning to see the sun shine
Sharing a humorous joke to see a face line
Remembering a moment with someone gone 'bye'
Running on the beach, squinting an eye
Musing to music for words to live by
Giving a gift that makes another cry
Living for happiness at every moment in time
Wining, dining and hearing bells chime
Feeling the kiss & embrace from your love
Realizing the simple beauty of a white dove.

I had forgotten about my period of writing poems. I should write more. For a while I was writing a WORD OF THE MONTH and creating a poem from that word. If you'd like to browse at some of my poems (from way back when)...I managed to post some of them here at this poetry website:
www.poetry.com/dotnet/P2450444/Michael/Armijo/PoetProfile.aspx

Twenty-five years ago

It is starting to sink in now (in my mind) about my being an uncle in mid-May 2004. Now that I have shared the news with a few friends and co-workers. In fact it is rather exciting and thrilling.

I discussed spending New Years Eve with Helen Wong, her sister, Geneva and her boyfriend, Derek, over a dinner and dancing plan. Where to do this is still in question.

I received word today (effective January 3, 1983) that I can pay monthly parking in Downtown Oakland for $35 at the usual parking lot I use daily. Good news! Hoorah!

I went to I. MAGNIN during my lunch hour and met Linda. She is a new management hire in the sportswear department. We bumped into one another in the mezzanine hallway due to an exchange in smiles. I gave her my card and she said she'd be working there. So...who knows where that might lead?

Helen invited me for dinner tonight. I drove over to her house and I decided to get my hair cut. We ate salad, chicken, macaroni and vanilla cream pie. It was a delicious homemade meal. We lounged a bit. It seems I tend to do a lot of lounging these days. I exercise too, so I believe it evens out in the long run. Helen and I decided on HORATIO'S in Berkeley, CA as the New Years Eve location. And then we may hit the Hilton for drinks and dancing. It should be fun.

I arrived home around 10:30pm. My brother, John, and his friend, Geoffrey Rookard, were watching my favorite "bike" movie, BREAKING AWAY.

I definitely need to get my bicycle 'flat tire' repaired!

Dancing Through Some Memories

Posted on 10:30 by Unknown

I heard a song during the drive up to Northern California and I fell in love with the lyrics and melody of this tune once again. It has been a song I have loved for a long time. It's pretty special how a single song can flood back memories.

My friend, Carson, who now has a blog inspired me to write a blog every so often about a song. He likes writing a blog based on a song each day. I love that idea. And so, today I chose this tune, "Hey Eugene".
www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjtekYzkZD4

"Hey Eugene" is based on a true story. China Forbes met a guy named Eugene while dancing in a New York City nightclub. There were fireworks of mutuality and physical attraction when they first met on that night of dancing. And yet, they never saw one another again. I guess Eugene lost her telephone number. Don't we all have a story that is reminiscent of that...or a variation of?

China Forbes is the lead singer for the group PINK MARTINI. Her voice is fabulous. Alan and I were blown away when we saw the group perform at CARNEGIE HALL back on June 21, 2007. I just did an online search and learned that they are playing once again at CARNEGIE HALL on June 18, 2009. I really want to be there.
http://shorefire.com/blog/2007/06/everybody-loves-pink-martini.html

I shot this candid photo of a guy in Soho, NYC (illustrated above) and I just NOW decided to call him "Eugene". If you want to sing-a-long to the tune here are the lyrics:

Hey Eugene do you remember me?
I'm that chick you danced with two times through the Rufus album Friday night at that party on avenue A:
where your skinhead friend passed out for several hours on the bathroom floor and you told me
You weren't that drunk, and that I was your favourite Salsa dancer you had ever come across in New York city

Eugene
Eugene
Eugene
I said hello Eugene
Are you there Eugene

Hey Eugene then we kissed once we lobbed your friend into the elevator and went to write my number on a soggy paper towel
And the car went down
And when we had finished making out we noticed that your skinhead friend was gone. Long gone
And you looked into my bloodshot eyes and said is it too soon if I call you Sunday

Eugene
Eugene

Eugene
I said hello, Eugene
Are you there, Eugene

I said hello (hello), Eugene (Eugene)
Eugene (Eugene)
Eugene (oh yeah)

I said hello (hello), Eugene
Are you there, Eugene (tell me are you there)

I said hello (hello), Eugene (Eugene)
Eugene (Eugene)
Eugene (tell me oh)

I said hello (hello), Eugene (Eugene)
Does any of this ring a bell Eugene?

Twenty-five years ago:

I awoke early to accomplish the nuisance errand of getting my flat tire repaired.
After the chore was complete I returned home and went on a brisk, relaxing bicycle ride. I stopped by Suzy Miller's pad on my bike. We spontaneously went over to OLE's WAFFLE SHOP on Park Street for breakfast. We love that place. We browsed at Tammy's Antiques next door. We saw some local high school acquaintances (Clayton Case and Maureen Dixon). It's funny how you run into folks from high-school. It happens so randomly. The other day I saw Anthony Battu working as a cashier at SAFEWAY.

After breakfast I rode my bike back home from Suzy's pad. I was surprised to find my mom at the townhouse doing her masterful cleaning. She is too sweet.

I called Bill Helbush but he wasn't home. I gave up on that. After ordering a few items from the SPIEGEL catalog and cleaning out my closet I ended up getting a return phone call from Bill. He sounded like he had just woke up (2pm).
"I did just wake up," he said.
I got those quiet (don't want to tell you about last night) vibes.
I said "later" in my mind to our previously made plans of going to the International Book Store in San Francisco. I have also said "later" in my mind to Bill's values and direction in...(whatever direction we were going).

I went bicycle riding again. It exhilarates me and relieves my anxieties. Unfortunately, I got a flat tire (on my bike this time). Luckily, the mishap took place in front of Suzy's apartment complex on Shoreline Road. Suzy was cleaning. I stuck around and ran into Jim (the guy Suzy is sort of seeing how lives in the same apartment building).

Suzy was kind enough to give me a ride home in her car. My parents had just left. John was watching TV (The Doberman Gang).
www.youtube.com/watch?v=MnuRQR-3Ui8
Suzy left after she did some browsing in my Entertaining Cookbook. After she left I went to mom's house to 'pork out' on her Spanish pozole.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pozole

When I returned home I received a phone call from Sherri Lewis. We discussed the happiness she (and everyone) felt over the announcement from John about the new baby. She said she felt kind of "iffy" about the marriage part. She said she's not sure what's going to happen. There is no question what is going to happen around mid-May 2004 though...a baby will be born.
