"I'd find a warm cafe, and would sip cafe-au-lait and chew on hot fresh croissants while scanning the papers with one eye and monitoring the street life with the other."

This is the last of the 'eleven' HEALTHY foods (that people rarely eat) that have been featured on my blog since February 1st. Today, the honorable mention goes to the power of pumpkin. It is a low-calorie vegetable that is so high in fiber and contains unique immune stimulating Vitamin A. Pumpkin will fill you up on very few calories. Do you remember how it feels after one slice of pumpkin pie?
Try mixing 'canned pumpkin' with a little butter, cinnamon and nutmeg. Yes, 'canned pumpkin' is just as good for the off-seasonal times.
Pumpkin is very high in carotenoids. They are what give pumpkins their orange color—but that's the least of their benefits. Carotenoids are really good at neutralizing free radicals, nasty molecules that can attack cell membranes and leave the cells vulnerable to damage.
Pumpkins are also high in lutein and zeaxanthin, which scavenge free radicals in the lens of the eye. Therefore, they may help prevent the formation of cataracts and reduce the risk of macular degeneration, a serious eye problem than usually results in blindness.
Besides carotenoids, lutein, and zeaxanthin, which are all antioxidants, pumpkins have a lot of common nutrients, like iron, zinc, and fiber. Iron, of course, is needed by red blood cells. Zinc deficiency may be related to osteoporosis of the hip and spine in older men. And fiber is important for bowel health.

Monday
I made an attempt to call about getting on the 'Wheel Of Fortune' game show but the lines are always busy.
Steffanie telephoned me a number of times at work today. She knows NOT to call me during my business day but she persists.
"I just wanted to let you talk to my cousin, the lead singer of the group CHICAGO."
"Well, I can't talk now."
I sent her a copy of my Driver's License with my face picture blotched out. We made a tentative lunch date for March 18th. It seems so faraway a date right now.
Dale Orlando and I shared our first break, our lunch and last break together. We've become 'chums'.
"Michael! I got info on Joan Rivers and we can probably go to see her in Las Vegas. I'll drive!"
"That would be so fun if you can really get tickets."
"It's the weekend of March 10th, so I'll let you know."
I accomplished fifty-five sales points today. Hurrah!
After work I received a phone call from my Dad.
"Sherri called me to find out what movie you want to see."
"Well, I have to go to the gym tonight. I'll think about it and let her know."
I was at the gym from 7:30pm to 9:30pm. It was a good workout. Once I arrived home I received a surprise phone call from Chris Cordellos. I had been thinking of him and told him so.
"You know, I called you last Thursday to see about going to Baxter's."
"Oh, my mom never gave me the message."
"Well as long as you know I tried to call you."
"You know, I used you as a reference for a job. I may end up quitting school to go to work. It's just that I am just so anxious to move out."
I had telephoned Paloma earlier today. She had scoop about the Mel Gibson movie.
"Mrs. Soffel was so good. And, you know what?"
"No, what?"
"I bought a turquoise suede skirt."
"Oh wow, I can't wait to see you in it."
"I am going to turn in early tonight."
"How about if I call you after my workout at the gym?"
"Okay."
I did not call her back because I was busy enjoying my Jack-In-The-Box goodies.
I was feeling good that my good buddy, Chris, came over on Saturday (even if I was not at home). I wonder if he really did come over. He said he would come over tomorrow night and stay over. It will be a relaxing evening if he does. That is all it will be...relaxing!
But nobody comes and I am left to my own resources.
If only I had someone I could trust to keep watch at my post of observation;
then of course I could descend in perfect peace of mind.
