February 14, 1985
Valentine's Day

I got Valentine's from Jim Koran, David Vigil, my supervisor Stephanie Bautista, Steffanie Redding and Paloma Sanchez-Guerra.

My work day was not so memorable. It was a routinely every day kind of day. Dale and I did go to Wendy's together and sat out on Market Street, watching the passers by.
"Michael, you remind me of my good looking twenty-five year old buddy who is going to join the NAVY soon."
That made me think of the inquiries I received after college to attend Officer Training School which led me to think of the Richard Gere movie from 1982, "The Officer and the Gentleman". I sometimes wonder what my life would be like now if I did go to Officer Training School.

Paloma and I met in front of the old Echo Beach night club. We joined together inside my car and went to 'The Oasis' night club. We had a hell of a good time. We both looked hot dancing together. I certainly thought so. I was being all 'hands' which I think surprised her. I believe she loved it. She feels so firm every which way. What a great body! After our dancing we went to Hamburger Mary's at 1AM. It was fun having their yummy avocado burgers.

Paloma makes me feel good. We talked of marriage once again. We...or I should say 'I' am unsure of our current standing. She seems all for it but gives me no solid affirmative. Then again...marrying Steffanie Redding may not be so bad either. Decisions. The main question is only one: 'Do I really want to wed now?' No? Time will tell.

He sat me down and told me very solemnly that sometimes people have to do one thing when they might want to do another, that some things are just not meant to be, and that people have to accept disappointment and make the best of things.
