"John Adams"
'Secrets & Lies' is a 1996 film about a successful black woman who traces her birth mother to a lower-class white woman, who denies it; emotions run high as every one's secrets are exposed.
'Secrets & Lies'
One of my favorite movies scenes (only an eight minute film clip).

Tuesday
Dad was so thoughtful yesterday to come by in the morning to bring me a box of Corn Flakes and a half gallon of milk. I will treasure that thoughtfulness. It's the little things that really are BIG things, you know!

I went to work today and enjoyed a ‘turkey dinner’ lunch with Karyn Kossoff in the company cafeteria. Our fellow coworker, Tim Matthews, joined us later. I love his relaxed Louisiana accent. He’s a nice lad.
I appeared at the “Minna” dive of a bar for happy hour after work. It seemed that about one-third of the Business Office was there. Eileen bought me two little roses and pinned it to the collar of my new corduroy camel sport coat. She was too sweet.
I talked to Neil for a while. He mentioned something derogatory about my wearing a tie to work every day.
“That’s because he dresses for success,” Eileen added.
I thought to myself, “I don’t care what they think.”
Then I realized that I do care about their opinions of me.
“Still, I will wear what I like to wear,” I thought silently, “and that’ll be that!”
Tom Kidwell and my supervisor, Stephanie Bautista, shared a few dirty jokes.
I talked to Ron Shelly (Ryan Hargrave’s lover). I told him about my new part-time job at MACY’s. He seemed impressed.
“I’ll have to stop in,” Ron said in response to my new Men’s Fragrances job at MACY's.
I left the dive early because my tonsils on the left side were bothering me after drinking the Michelob beer.
I arrived home to a card in my mailbox from Jim Koran. He was right. He didn’t lie. He really did send me a card. He didn’t fill it with very much of his own words though. I guess he couldn’t think of anything to write.
I wrote him back a lengthy card, including some ‘think on it’ philosophical statements. I know he likes when I write them. I do like Jim but I wonder what happened to Jeffrey Burr. Oh well. I’ll wait and see what happens with Jim. I am guessing the answers will all come in due time.
I enjoyed a bowl of corn flakes with warm milk. Yummy. Why was the milk warm?
I am watching Part II of “Ellis Island” now.

I also wrote a Farewell/Birthday Card to Bobbie Renbarger for tomorrow. It’s her birthday and the following day is her last day at the office.
I am tempted to telephone Bob Umland since I now have his home telephone number. He is the guy who works at Wilkes-Bashford. I decided to hold off on it.
Steve Gaster called today to tell me of a get-together for Dolores of the Pac Bell Oakland office. It is this Friday at the Hungry Hunter. It’s her five years of service dinner. It should be fun.
