I believe there is a theory that men and women emerge finer and stronger after suffering, and that to advance in this or any world we must endure ordeal by fire.

Thank you Christine Hicks for sending me this most fascinating article about the benefits of an 'asparagus mixture' to prevent & possibly cure cancer:
There was supposedly an article, entitled, "Asparagus for Cancer" printed in The Cancer News Journal back in December 1979. The article had been circulating the internet since October 2006. The case study examples were quite impressive. The bottom line is that asparagus is a potential remedy because asparagus contains a good supply of protein called histones. These histones are believed to be active in controlling cell growth. For that reason, it is conceivable that asparagus can be said to contain a substance that may be called 'cell growth normalizer'.
It is recommended that the cancer treatment mixture of asparagus be cooked before using. Canned asparagus is just as good as fresh. A leading biochemist has corresponded with the two leading canned good manufacturers of asparagus, Giant and Stokely, and is satisfied that these brands contain no pesticides or preservatives.
1. Place the cooked asparagus in a blender and liquefy to make a puree, and store in the refrigerator.
2. Give the patient 4 full tablespoons twice daily, morning and evening.
Patients usually show some improvement in from 2-4 weeks. It can be diluted with water and used as a cold or hot drink. This suggested dosage is based on present experience, but certainly larger amounts can do no harm and may be needed in some cases.
The biochemist is convinced of the old saying that `what cures can prevent'. Based on this theory, he and his wife have been using asparagus puree as a beverage with their meals.
They take 2 tablespoons diluted in water to suit their taste with breakfast and with dinner. For years they have made it a practice to have blood surveys taken as part of their regular check-ups.
The last blood survey, taken by a medical doctor who specializes in the nutritional approach to health, showed substantial improvements in all categories over the last one. They can only attribute these improvements to nothing but the asparagus drink.
The biochemist has made an extensive study of all aspects of cancer, and all of the proposed cures. He is convinced that asparagus fits in better with the latest theories about cancer.

Tuesday
I shared lunch (once again) with Bobbie Renbarger. I know I will miss her. The countdown begins as her last day of work in the office is on November 15th.
Hank greeted me today on my official arrival to his his section. My new supervisor, Stephanie Bautista, is a sweetie. She is really nice. She is Filipino. I want to sell a lot for her and our section.
My throat feels a bit raspy and it is making me nervous. I wonder if it has something to do with Robert St. Cyr and the brief oral episode.
Once home I called Howard Edelstein to see if he could prescribe some medicine. He was not at home but I still left a message on his recorder. After this phone call I went to vote for Mondale, but Reagan won again.
I drove to MACY's for some cards and a new address book. I was 'pissed' because the three automated 24-hour teller machines were all closed tonight!
While filling in my new address book I chose to call on 'good ole' Jeffrey Burr. I left a message saying, "Sorry I missed you. I'll just get back to you another time."
I telephoned Gilbert. He was surprised to hear from me. He's that guy who was running that shady modeling agency in San Francisco. We had a very nice talk about old times (like driving into the City, Natasha and the 'Oh Oh Oh song'). We also spoke of present times.
"My modeling agency is going well," Gilbert said.
We brushed up on the outlook of the future when I had to hang up as Howard was returning my call.
Howard was of no real help to me.
"I suggest you go for a home exam now," Howard advised.
I decided not to heed his advice. I'll look elsewhere for my medical assistance in the future.
