A statue of David gleamed in white silhouette on the mantel against the dark wall.
Candles burned in the ornate white chandelier, and the circular coffee table under it was enormous.
There were white shag rugs, and the baroque furniture was white, upholstered in brown.

"A Divided Path"
A 'junk food' diet causes rats brains' 'pleasure centers' to become progressively less responsive. Yes, it is true according to an October 27, 2009 article by Science Daily:
Brain pleasure centers became progressively less responsive in rats fed a diet of high-fat, high-calorie food, a new study by the Scripps Research Institute has found. As the changes occurred, the rats developed compulsive overeating habits and became obese. The overeating continued even when it meant the rats had to endure an unpleasant consequence (a mild foot shock) in order to consume the food.
Conclusion: Avoid "junk food"!

Monday
I was filled with excitement about mailing Jeffrey Burr his letter. I needed to cross reference his telephone number at work to acquire his address (sneaky me).
My first work day back was rather drab. The day did fly by fast. I enjoyed lunch with Bobbie at the Health Food store via the cafeteria.
I wanted to bike after work but the time change has made it just too damn dark.
My time and thoughts were so preoccupied while at work. It gave me less time to dwell on Jim, Jeffrey or anyone else.
I had dinner with Helen and then I 'turned in' for bed early after writing a few postcards. I wrote postcards to Bobbie Renbarger, Robert St. Cyr and Larry Davies.
