Yossi is a company commander and Jagger a platoon commander in the Israeli Army. The two men are also lovers. When they receive orders to prepare for a night ambush from their secret base in Lebanon in which they have a great chance of confronting the enemy face-to-face, their leadership and secret relationship becomes complicated. Fox's latest controversial effort has played to unexpectedly great response in Israel.

My Comments: 4 STARS
This may have only been a sixty-five minute film but it was a great story. I liked when Jagger told the other soldiers, "If I told you I was a faggot what would you say?"
One of the soldiers answered, "Shall I be honest...you're very pretty so I think we'd all want to fuck you!"
Laughter followed by all of the soldiers (including in the audience).

It was interesting to see this sort of film with Israeli soldiers. it demonstrated a worldly view of how being gay still has to be 'incognito' as if it's taboo. The acting was wonderful despite the predictable ending. The only question in my mind was 'who would lose a loved one?'.

Work flew by.

I had lunch with Karyn Kossoff at a place called CRISPS. We caught up on a few things but I did not say much (specifically about Paloma as she was on my mind).

After work I needed a nap at home (only after ordering and eating a whole combination pizza from La Val's Pizza).

Dad telephoned.
"How come you haven't come over lately?"
He was his Mr. Nice Guy self and I didn't have much to say to him.

I decided to go to bed rather early tonight and 'that was that'.

No one bothered to call me tonight. The vacancy alert ad at UC Berkeley is not getting much play.

The rest of the week dragged by in eternities.
