I remember some time ago I was driving with Alan to some destination like Napa Valley, Laguna Beach or San Diego. We have a DEAN MARTIN Greatest HITS CD that always seems to remain in the car. When we have a disagreement of any sort I put this tune on.

I know Alan has played it for me, too. It is our subtle way of saying, "Your being mean to me." It is pretty funny because the words make us laugh and start to NOT be mean anymore.

Twenty-five years ago today:

October 17, 1984
Wednesday

On the way to work I ran into Rick Brown (Elisa’s husband). He gave me his business card and Elisa’s business card. That was a friendly gesture. He works for DATA Corporation. Elisa works for WORDEX Inc. (whatever that is?).

Today was another freebie training day at work.

I wrote and sent picture postcards to Barbara Reynolds, George Jones, Juanita Lane, Cathy Ainley, Lisa Pingatore and Pat Overschoun. They’re all friends or 'signifant others' from my past. I will have to wait and see if and which ones will respond.

Bobbie got word that her VIP (Voluntary Retirement) was approved! I am amazed. It seems a waste after she went through all of the training processes, too. I wonder if she’ll stick around here or go to Indiana (or Chicago) to open her hopeful business (with her brothers’ help).

I bicycled for an hour. It was kind of ‘chilly willy’ out but still worth the ride.
Helen, Tony and I had dinner together. Tony must love her meals. I watched DYNASTY alone while Tony and Helen went upstairs for ‘heaven knows what’.

I thought of writing to Jim Koran or Chris Cordellos but decided to turn in to bed early instead. I wonder if Barbara Reynolds (trees postcard), Karyn Kossoff (beach postcard), or Paloma Sanchez-Guerra (Adam & Eve postcard) received their respective postcards. I have not heard a word from any of them.

Oh yeah, I kept my sperm donation appointment as usual today
