"I made a promise today. I'm going to write to you every week. No matter whether we're across America from each other or in the same room. I'm going to write to you."

"The Wednesday Letters"
Our friend, Ron de Salvo, loves to spontaneously invite us on outings. Last night we found ourselves at the Catalina Bar & Grill on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood. Ron brought along a transplant from Macon, Georgia.
His name is Billy Lowe and he was such a lively, down-to-earth person. What a joy to be around him! Billy is a hair stylist extraordinaire. He has been a loyal fan of 'Wonder Woman' (aka actress Lynda Carter) for years. It was Lynda that we would watch perform her passionate songs on this evening.
Lynda sang 'Crazy', 'You Send Me', 'Fever' and a number of other jazz/country/motown tunes. She gave a lively show and I was amazed by her physique. She was born in 1951 (do the addition) and she looks fantastic! I didn't know she grew up in Phoenix, Arizona. I didn't know her mother was named Juanita Cordova. I have family that married into Cordova. Perhaps we have a mutual familial connection. Who knows? She has a CD coming out in June 2009 called 'At Last'. I think I just may grab myself a copy.
After the show we had dinner at a cool place called AMMO. We enjoyed a bottle of 2002 Fantesca Cabernet that the boys just LOVED. Yummy! While we were at the restaurant an old song that I so LOVE was playing called 'Harvest Moon' by Neil Young. It is such a soothing one. Listen!

Twenty-five years ago today:
March 8, 1984, Thursday
It was an all right sort of day. My net paycheck was $670.00 and I received my VISA bill of over $500. That's blowin' it!
I had lunch all by my lonesome because Helen had a date.

I sat out and Nici Maurino passed by. I bought her an ice-cream cone. We did a checkpoint chatter on how we were doing (for the most part). She seems to have gained a bit of weight. I guess times are good. She could lose about twenty pounds but she is tall and seems to 'hold her own' well.
I went bicycling until 6:30pm. Then I cruised over in my car to Berkeley for Paloma! Yes! She was her usual 'high-fashion' (couture) self. We were the "eye" of the audience. We went to the Oaks Theater in Berkeley where we thoroughly enjoyed the movie "Against All Odds".
The song by Phil Collins called 'Take A Look At Me Now' was touching to hear. It gives me the chills to hear it.

I truly like Paloma but 'damn' to her cigs!
Chris is supposedly calling me tonight. I wonder whether he has already called.
