Everybody Knows

"There is a logic of colors, and it is with this alone, and not with the logic of the brain, that the painter should conform.
-Paul Cezanne
This weekend will be the 'Watchmen' Weekend. It's a sure fire WIN at the box-office. I'm not sure if I will be able to see it this weekend. I hope to. The timing is uncertain.
Another photographer pal named "Ena Lu" that I admire reminded me of a song by Leonard Cohen that I had forgotten about. I love the tune (Everybody Knows) and I chose to feature it here today.

Let's sing-a-long...
Everybody knows that the dice are loaded
Everybody rolls with their fingers crossed
Everybody knows that the war is over
Everybody knows the good guys lost
Everybody knows the fight was fixed
The poor stay poor, the rich get rich
That's how it goes
Everybody knows
Everybody knows that the boat is leaking
Everybody knows that the captain lied
Everybody got this broken feeling
Like their father or their dog just died
Everybody talking to their pockets
Everybody wants a box of chocolates
And a long stem rose
Everybody knows
Everybody knows that you love me baby
Everybody knows that you really do
Everybody knows that you've been faithful
Ah give or take a night or two
Everybody knows you've been discreet
But there were so many people you just had to meet
Without your clothes
And everybody knows
Everybody knows, everybody knows
That's how it goes
Everybody knows
Everybody knows, everybody knows
That's how it goes
Everybody knows
And everybody knows that its now or never
Everybody knows that its me or you
And everybody knows that you live forever
Ah when you've done a line or two
Everybody knows the deal is rotten
Old black Joe's still pickin' cotton
For your ribbons and bows
And everybody knows
And everybody knows that the plague is coming
Everybody knows that its moving fast
Everybody knows that the naked man and woman
Are just a shining artifact of the past
Everybody knows the scene is dead
But there's gonna be a meter on your bed
That will disclose
What everybody knows
And everybody knows that you're in trouble
Everybody knows what you've been through
From the bloody cross on top of Calvary
To the beach of Malibu
Everybody knows its coming apart
Take one last look at this sacred heart
Before it blows
And everybody knows
Everybody knows, everybody knows
That's how it goes
Everybody knows
Oh everybody knows, everybody knows
That's how it goes
Everybody knows

Helen and I ate at "Fats". We discussed the mysterious Nadine given the fact that I have not met her face-to-face. We concluded the possibility of her being "Fat". Helen and I discussed how it is hard to find someone with all of the right qualities.
I attended my ART class this evening. It was 'okay'. And I mean 'just okay'. I am not too pleased with the class when I consider the $130 cost. My Communications Graphics class at Sacramento State was much better. This course will just have to do. It does break the monotony of my work week.
I was upset this morning to learn that Chris Cordellos was robbed at the High Street Shell Oil gas station at gunpoint by some "blood"! Outrageous!
After ART class I returned home and rapped on the phone with Nadine. She is really nice over the telephone. I am now wondering how "Fat" she may really be. We made plans for a movie and eats tomorrow night.
PHOTO: I saw this woman in NYC, reading a book (A Fiery Hint of Murder by C.F. Roe). I wonder if she has ulterior motives. Yikes! I looked for the book on amazon.com and it seems to be quite rare and not easily accessible (only used copies are available). It just made me wonder. I love a random, spontaneous slice-of-life candid. I must remember that it is always the innocent looking ones. You just NEVER KNOW.
Chris called me from Arcata, CA. Thanks to call waiting he interrupted my call with Nadine.
"I'm so glad to be back in Arcata," Chris said, "only I am not so glad because of you."
He's too kind. I am glad we toasted to everlasting friendship when I saw him last. I do recall toasting to that one before. However, I think 'with him' I feel truth and agreement.
