Lunch in NYC for only $7.50
Posted on 15:12 by Unknown
Mrs. Allen's nervousness made itself felt; she infused an air of turmoil into the meal. Someone was always having to get up for something forgotten.
as read in 'The Divided Path',
a novel by Nial Kent
Imagine! A simple place to eat without the frills. There's no need to be nervous and the meal is good. Yes, a place in New York City where you can find a healthy lunch for only $7.50. It includes 'The Health Salad' appetizer along with 'The Hummus Tahini' (served with warm whole wheat pita bread).

I was at the West Village location @ 71 7th Avenue South yesterday afternoon, enjoying this treat.
The other locations are:
Greenwich Village @ 99 Macdougal Street
East Village @ 109 St. Mark's Place
Upper West Side @ 305 Amsterdam Ave.
They have a website too:

Monday
What a drag!
Strike One: This coming Thursday I have to give a short speech ‘of some sort’ on “Positive Customer Contacts”. I will focus on ‘fact-finding’ smoothly when I provide the representatives with my expert advice.
During lunchtime Helen, Tony and I went to Lake Merritt to eat on this beautiful Monday.
Strike Two: There was more of a ‘let down’ when I learned that my work section is required to work until 5:30pm all of this week.
Strike Three: Later that evening I went on a bike riding excursion when I got a flat tire at precisely 7pm. I happened to reach Crown Memorial Park at that inconvenient moment. I had to walk my bike home. At least I had my SONY headphones. The random ‘alternative rock’ tunes guided me home in an uplifting way:
Here Comes The Rain Again by the Eurythmics
Wrapped Around Your Finger by The Police
Hold Me Now by The Thompson Twins
Time After Time by Cyndy Lauper
And my all-time fave, Free Nelson Mandela by Special AKA. Oh how I love to pedal to this tune!

Once I arrived home my appetite was ripe. I ate mom’s homemade potato salad. I made myself a homemade orange juice milkshake. It was time to lounge to a movie. I took a moment aside to write and send that Black & White & Silver card of ‘The City’ to Chris Cordellos. The flick I chose to watch was the Jodie Foster/Robert DeNiro classic “Taxi Driver”.
